Sanders Meredith Ingram was a farmer, lawyer, and state legislator from Richmond County, N.C. He was also a part of the inaugural class at Wake Forest College, 1834-1835. Ingram served in the Mexican War in the lst Tennessee Calvary Regiment and in the Civil War as first lieutenant in the 38th North Carolina Infantry Regiment.
